Gujrat, Pakistan – Bangladesh’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Iqbal Hussain Khan, has announced a significant easing of the visa regime between Pakistan and Bangladesh, aimed specifically at the business community to foster stronger trade relations and economic growth in the region.
Speaking at the Gujrat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GTCCI), the High Commissioner emphasized that Bangladesh considers Pakistan a strategic gateway to Central Asian markets, making it essential to simplify visa procedures for businessmen and traders.
To further facilitate this, an online visa application system will be launched in December 2025. This move is expected to streamline the visa process, making it more accessible and efficient for applicants, especially those involved in cross-border trade.
Iqbal Hussain Khan highlighted that Bangladesh strongly supports stability and economic development across the region. Both Pakistan and Bangladesh have already begun issuing business visas to trade delegations, signaling a new era of cooperation and increased bilateral trade.
Local business leaders, including GTCCI President Bau Muneer, former President Ali Ansar Ghuman, Ahmed Hassan Mattu, and Secretary Usman Muzaffar, welcomed the announcement and expressed optimism about the positive impact on regional commerce.
